A plot has become available at Dreelside and this will first be offered to current plot holders who wish to swap before being opened to the waiting list. Please notify our secretary before the 21st January if you are interested in swapping. If more than two plot holders apply we will take the person that registered as a member of ADAA first. The plot is a full size plot at the far west of the site (near to the dreel entrance gate) and could be taken on as a full or two half plots. Cheers Ali

Rabbits
We have lots of rabbits living along the Dreel and some, if not all, are visiting the allotments for a good feed up. During the snow many tiny footprints were seen all over the plots and lots of veggies have been lost.
To rectify this we have managed to raise some funds from the Anstruther Common Good fund to purchase some rabbit proof fencing but we need everyones help to erect this.
The rabbit proof fence will surround the whole site and hopefully eliminate the problem
Its a big job and we need everyone to lend a hand on the following days
Work days
29th, 30th January 10.00 to 12pm and 1pm to 3pm
5th and 6th February 10.00 to 12pm and 1pm to 3pm
Thanks Ali

Insurance and Stuff
The ADAA have joined the British Trust for Conservation Volunteers as a group (http://www2.btcv.org.uk/display/btcv_scotland). This will give us support, access to funding, good value tools and an excellent insurance scheme. The insurance that we have purchased covers public liability and personal accident (http://www2.btcv.org.uk/display/groupinsurance) on the site for members.
Its worth looking at the BTCV website for lots of advice and help with allotments and practical conservation work like fencing, terracing and path building. All stuff we are probably interested in doing on the Dreelside site.
